Windsor senior R.J. Edwards scored two touchdowns, including one with a 65-yard run, to help the Dukes defeat Northampton 32-0 during a non-district game Friday night on the Eastern Shore.

The win improves Windsor’s record to 3-1.

Edwards opened scoring with his 65-yard run in the first quarter. A two-point conversion pass from quarterback Justice Chapman to Sharon Patterson was good.

Orris Bowers followed with a 12-yard touchdown run, also in the first quarter, giving Windsor a 14-0 lead after the two-point conversion failed.

Edwards scored on another run and Chapman threw a touchdown pass to Kaleb Dundlow, both in the second quarter. The extra point attempts failed both times, giving Windsor a 26-0, first-half lead.

Windsor’s final score came in the third quarter on a 25-yard pass from Chapman to Patterson.

“The kids played well,” said Windsor Coach Chuck Parrish. “When we got there, it was pouring down rain with lightning. They stayed focus and we got going right away.”
