Tickets for the event cost $45, and guests should wear business casual for the event.

All of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Tidewater Builders Association’s Scholarship Foundation, which has given more than $1.66 million to 424 students since it was formed.

Justin Kauflin, a jazz pianist and former TBA scholarship recipient, will be performing with his band, The Justin Kauflin Trio.

He is also the namesake for the Fall 2011 Homearama charity house, and the sale of the home will benefit the TBA Scholarship Foundation.

“I’m just glad that I’m able to do something like that and lend something other than the name,” he said. “I’m very happy and honored to be considered to be a part of it. I think it’s going to be a blast.”

Preview party attendees will be the first to tour the Homearama houses and will be able to meet with the builders, contractors, designers and landscapers who worked on the featured homes.

The event will also feature a champagne toast and a food spread, including Brunswick stew and ham biscuits. Also, the Carolina Cupcakery is providing desserts for the party.

Tickets for the Charity Preview Party can be purchased online at www.tbaonline.org/events or by contacting 420-2434.

Homearama officially opens Oct. 15-30.

The homes will be open from noon to 9 p.m. daily. Admission to Homearama is $10 for a single-day pass and $17 for a two-day ticket. Children under 12 and guests in wheelchairs are free.
