James Sharpe Jr., 70, formerly of Newport News, Va., died Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011, at Riverside Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held at noon Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011, at New Mt. Joy Food For Living Ministries officiated by the Rev. Tarrence Paschall, Pastor Overseer Viola Parker. Interment will be in Little Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will receive friends in the home of his daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Riddick, at 801 White Marsh Road, Suffolk. Crocker Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
