The Legends of Sleepy Hole returns for another scary season of fright at the end of this month.

The haunted hayride will take place in a wooded area of Sleepy Hole Park on Oct. 28-29 from 7 to 11 p.m. each night. The cost is $5 per ride and is intended for ages 10 and up. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the city’s United Way campaign.

Volunteers are needed for the event, including people who can put scenery and props together and be a character in the event. Participants will receive dinner.

The ride takes visitors through a scary forest with several different scenes, including scary people who jump out from the woods.

New this year is a “Friendly Forest” area for children under 10, including carnival games, a bounce house, craft projects and more.

Concessions will be available for purchase at the event. Sleepy Hole Park is located at 4700 Sleepy Hole Road.
