William David “Beaver” Briscoe, 57, of Suffolk died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. He was a native of Suffolk and the son of the late Maryetta Briscoe.

He attended Suffolk Public Schools. He drove charter buses for 39 years. He was a member of Tabernacle Christian Church where he was a member of the Men Fellowship, Male Chorus and Wednesday Night Bible Study. He was also a Mason and member of Mt. Vernon No. 48.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Barbara Briscoe; son, Shaun Briscoe of Suffolk; one sister, Brenda Briscoe of Suffolk; one brother, Joseph Milteer of Suffolk; two grandchildren; father-in-law, Robert Knight of Suffolk; one aunt, Josephine Daughtery of Connecticut; his godmother, Shirley Cross; other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at noon Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011, at Tabernacle Christian Church, 2500 East Washington St., officiated by Bishop Carlton Upton, Sr. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery.

The family will be at 117 South 6th Street, Suffolk.
