Ret. Lt. Col. Hugo DeLoca Glenn, 77, passed away Oct. 23, 2011. Born in Nansemond County, he was the son of the late Mary and Russell Glenn. He was predeceased by his brothers, Fleet Glenn, Dr. Rollin Glenn; and a sister, Monica Glenn.

Lt. Col. Glenn was a 1958 graduate of VPI, was a Vietnam veteran, and was a Bronze Star recipient.

Survivors include his wife, Helen F. Glenn; son, Lt. Col. Steven Glenn, of Charleston, S.C.; daughter, Sharon Glenn, of Seattle, Wash.; sisters, Leola Glenn, Tosca Minichan and husband, Dr. David Minichan, Jocelyn O’Bannon and husband, Dr. Bill O’Bannon, Patty Johnson; sisters-in-law, Doris Glenn, Betty Glenn, and Lillian Fowler.

A memorial service will be conducted Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Somerton United Methodist Church, 8610 Whaleyville Blvd., Suffolk, VA 23434 by the Rev. Becky Gwaltney.
