ODU continued its dominating play Sunday against VCU. Smither scored her fourth goal of the season giving ODU a 2-0 lead in the 27th minute. The Lady Monarchs outshot VCU 32-1.

The season championship gives Old Dominion (17-1, 7-0) the hosting privileges for the CAA Tournament Nov. 3-6. The Lady Monarchs have two regular season matches to go, both at home, on Friday against William and Mary at 5 p.m. and on Sunday against No. 2 North Carolina at 1 p.m.

ODU won 3-1 in Chapel Hill, against then-No. 1 UNC, on Sept. 16.
