Cyclones take second in Tough Man Tourney

The Suffolk Cyclone 12U baseball team finished second, going 3-1, in the Tough Man Shoot-Out USSSA tournament in Virginia Beach on Sunday. The Cyclones are, front row from left, Dixon Mills, Chase Evans, D.J. Smith, Corey Hasson, Rendon Meston, Sage Trollinger, second row from left, Jonny West, Hunter Jernigan, Andrew Kelley, Gage Riddick, James Mullin and back row from left, assistant coach Doug Smith, assistant coach Tim Kelley and head coach Jim Mullin.

The Suffolk Cyclones went 3-1 and finshed runner-up in the Tough Man Shoot-Out 12-and-under USSSA (United States Specialty Sports Association) baseball tournament at Virginia Beach’s Princess Anne Athletic Complex on Sunday.

The Cyclones rallied to beat the Hampton Roads Hurricanes 7-4 in their opening game and continued on to beat the Chesapeake Blue Diamonds 7-1.

Suffolk blanked the Virginia Beach Hurricanes 8-0 in the semifinals. The Norfolk Surge won the tournament with a 13-6 win over the Cyclones in the final.
