SUFFOLK — Nathaniel “Tink” Thorne, 51, of 1665 Nansemond Parkway, was born to the union of the late Thad and Mary Thorne on March 5, 1960 in Suffolk, Va.

Nathaniel graduated from John F. Kennedy High School and was employed by Selected Source. He was a Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed all life had to offer.

Nathaniel made the transition to peace, comfort and rest on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011.

To mourn his passing and cherish his memory, he leaves three children, Deon Garvin, Michelle Vaughan and Nathaniel Ried; three brothers, Wayne Thorne, Charles Harris (Vickie) and Thad Thorne Jr.; three sisters, Carolyn Sutton (Sylvester), Deloris Harris and Patricia Parker; four grandchildren; a devoted friend, Virginia Wright; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Mr. Thorne visitation will take place at T.E. Cooke-Overton Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday, Oct. 27, from noon to 7 p.m. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Friday, Oct. 28 at noon and he will be laid to rest at Carver Memorial Cemetery.
