Suffolk police have released photographs from a surveillance camera of the suspect in a robbery and assault that left the victim in the hospital with severe head injuries.

Just after 4 a.m. on Sunday, a black male entered the 7-Eleven in Chuckatuck and assaulted the clerk with a baseball bat. He then took cash from the register drawer and fled the store.

Anyone who has information is asked to call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP. Callers to Crime Line never have to give their names or appear in court, and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
