Louis Timothy Beamon went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, Nov. 20, 2011. He was born on July 30, 1938 in Smithfield, Va., to the late Norman Beamon and Mamie Butts.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Henry A. Beamon.

Louis leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of nearly 50 years, Yvonne W. Beamon; son, Steve Beamon (Celia); daughter, Robin Hylton (Wayne); sister, Mamie B. Rountree (Wallace); special cousin, Herman White (Peggy White); two sisters-in-law, seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, godchildren, friends and acquaintances.

Mr. Beamon will be on view at T.E. Cooke-Overton Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday, Nov. 25 between the hours of 1 and 7 p.m., and the family will receive guests from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 26, at 11 a.m., at New Mount Olive Baptist Church, 662 Fernwood Farms Road, Chesapeake, VA 23320. He will be laid to rest immediately following at Woodlawn Memorial Cemetery.
