Suffolk rescue workers responded to 250 Bott Lane on Wednesday evening after a hunter was found on the ground in the woods.

The 77-year-old man was found about 5:35 p.m., city spokeswoman Debbie George said. He was not breathing and had apparently suffered a heart attack, though that was not confirmed, she said.

Bott Lane is between Holland and Whaleyville, near the intersection of Vicksburg Road and O’Kelly Drive.

Dispatchers gave CPR instructions until medics arrived, but the man died at the scene.
