Suffolk police are seeking a man wanted on six warrants after a police chase ended in a wreck this weekend.
About 2 a.m. Saturday, officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Nansemond Parkway for a report of a person with a gun.
Officers observed a man brandishing a firearm. The man got into a silver Chevrolet Suburban and fled the scene, city spokeswoman Debbie George said.
The officer pursued the man to the 2200 block of East Washington Street, where the suspect’s vehicle struck a curb and a telephone pole before coming to a stop. The suspect fled the scene on foot.
Police also discovered suspected marijuana inside the vehicle, according to a police report.
Police have warrants on file for Rodriguez Latrelle Johnson, of the 100 block of Day Street, for hit and run, felony eluding police, brandishing a firearm, possession of marijuana, reckless driving and driving on a suspended license.
Anyone who has information on Johnson’s whereabouts is asked to call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP. Callers to Crime Line never have to give their names or appear in court, and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
