Suffolk police are seeking a suspect in an armed robbery that happened Saturday.

The 24-year-old male victim reported he was leaving the 7-Eleven in the 2300 block of Holland Road when the suspect approached him beside his car door.

“He produced a handgun and attempted to force the victim into the car,” city spokeswoman Debbie George said.

The victim gave the suspect a small amount of cash out of his pocket, and the suspect fled, she said.

The suspect is described as a black male, 40 to 50 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, wearing a tan jacket, a red striped shirt, dark jeans and a dark orange baseball cap.

Anyone who has information about the robbery is asked to call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP. Callers to Crime Line never have to give their names or appear in court, and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
