Joseph A. Wilson, 55, of 508 Cedar Court, Suffolk, died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, at the residence. He was a native of Suffolk and the son of the late Shelly Wilson and Mildred V. Wilson.

He attended Suffolk High School.

He leaves to cherish his memory: two daughters, Toletta Edmonds (James), of Chesapeake, Va., and Kenesha Wilson, of Suffolk; two sons, Joseph Wilson and Kevin Wilson, both of Suffolk; five brothers, William Wilson (Gladys), Alton Wilson (Patricia), Calvin Wilson (Ramona), Clarence Wilson (Sally) and David Wilson; two sisters, Shirley Blount (Larry) and Louise Young (James); four grandchildren; one uncle, Willie J. Warren (Cynthia); two aunts, Frances Gray (Wallace) and Mary Lou Berry (Claude); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at New Jones Grove Baptist Church, 15090 Woodland Drive, Windsor, Va., officiated by Assistant Pastor Willie Williams and Pastor Alvin Pierce.
