A man is charged with malicious wounding after an alleged assault on Friday night.

According to city spokeswoman Debbie George, officers responded to Suffolk Fire Department Station No. 7 in Holland in reference to an assault.

The victim, Thomas Carson, had been brought there after being assaulted at a residence in the 1300 block of Glen Haven Drive just before 9 p.m., George said.

He was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital via Nightingale. He suffered a broken jaw, broken nose and broken bones around his right eye socket.

Charles Alexander Lindsay, 23, was charged with malicious wounding.
