Mount Olive College junior Andrea Jones, a Nansemond River High School graduate, survived a poor shooting night to hit a pair of big baskets in the waning moments of a 58-57 win over Queens University on Wednesday. Jones shared the scoring lead with 12 points to go along with three rebounds and three steals.
Jones put the Trojans ahead to stay with a three-pointer in the final minute, then added a short jumper moments later to build a three-point cushion.
The Trojans fell back into a tie atop the Eastern Division of Conference Carolinas Saturday afternoon with a 66-62 loss to North Greenville University. Jones scored 17 points and added a career-high seven steals in the loss.
