James W. “Pip” Godwin, 72, passed from this life on Friday, Feb. 3, 2012. A service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012, at the Main Street Baptist Church, Smithfield, by the Rev. Dr. James M. Harrison. Viewing will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. along with family visitation and musical tributes from 6 to 7 p.m. at the church. Shivers Funeral Chapel is handling the funeral arrangements.
