A Suffolk man is charged with discharging a firearm in a public place and reckless handling of a firearm after allegedly shooting at his neighbor’s dog.
Howard Andrews, 54, was charged Friday after the incident occurred about 3:32 p.m.
According to city spokeswoman Debbie George, Andrews said the dog slipped through a fence into his yard and was attacking his dog.
“There’s some conflicting information about whether it was attacking his dog at the time or not,” George said.
The dog suffered an injury to its ear from the bullet.
Andrews’ arraignment is scheduled for Friday.
