Ciera Dominique Thorpe of Suffolk and Nathan Alexander Rooks of Portsmouth announce their engagement.

Ciera is the daughter of Carolyn and Randy Harris, of Suffolk. Nathan is the son of Alvin Rooks Sr., of Emporia, and the late Evelyn Rooks, of Norfolk.

The couple will wed on Aug. 4, 2012, at New Mount Joy Food For Living Ministries at 4 p.m.
