Ceremonies over, Isle of Wight Academy said a final farewell to a group of successful seniors with a 69-31 win at home over Alliance on Tuesday.

That core group won regular-season championships as seventh- and eighth-graders, won Metro Athletic regular-season and tournament championships as 10th-grade junior varsity players, were state tournament runners-up in 2010 and qualified for the state tournament last year.

They have won 70 percent of their games since seventh grade and won 20 or more games three straight years, with a chance at a fourth this year.
