Elizabeth A. Frier, 87, of 2525 East Washington St., Suffolk, Va., died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012 at Sentara Obici Hospital. She was a native of Nansemond County and the daughter of the late Sadie Allen. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Eugene Frier, and son, Melvin Allen.

She was a former member of First Baptist Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory three sons, Herbert L. Frier (Blanch), Randolph Frier (Barbara) and Howard Frier (Catherine), all of Suffolk; one sister, Mary Frances Langston (Buddy), of Suffolk; good friend, Virgie Sandifer; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held at noon, Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, in the chapel of Crocker Funeral Home officiated by Suffragan Bishop Madison Copeland. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. A wake will be held on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will receive friends in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Randolph Frier, 2541 Woodland Trail, Suffolk.
