The Summer Olympics are fast approaching, and youngsters in Suffolk this year will be able to participate in some of the same events that will be featured in London.

The Hershey Track and Field Meet for Suffolk will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 19 at the King’s Fork High School track. Boys and Girls from ages 9 to 14 will be able to demonstrate their athleticism in running, throwing and jumping.

The free event will qualify some participants to advance to the North American Final Track Meet in Hershey, Pa.

Registration is required and will run April 2 through May 19. All participants must provide proof of age and complete a registration and waiver forms. Competitors may register online at www.suffolkva.us/parks or at the Suffolk Parks & Recreation Administrative Office, 134 South Sixth St.
