Quinton Sean Rodgers died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012, at Sentara Obici Hospital. Quinton Sean Rodgers was the son of Dr. Robert E. Rodgers Sr. and the late Barbara M. Rodgers. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert E. Rodgers Jr., and a sister, Phyllis D. Rodgers. After accepting Christ as his Savior, he joined Oak Grove Baptist Church.

He leaves to cherish his memory¸ a devoted wife, Elanda Rodgers; children, Shannon Thorpe and Dvaria Thorpe; father, Dr. R.E. Rodgers (Virgie); grandchild, Jermarion Thorpe; uncle, Junius C. Rodgers (Ernestine); mother-in-law, Barbara Thorpe; father-in-law, Elder Ernest Thorpe (Min. Audrey); sisters-in-law, Diane Smith (Rev. George), Denise Montgomery, Vanessa Peele (Windell) Carolyn Harris (Randy); brothers-in-law, Ernest Thorpe Jr. (Kimberly) and Bernard Thorpe (Marjorie); godmother, Evelyn Copeland; a devoted friend and mentor, Bobby W. Knight; and a host of cousins and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held at noon, Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, at Oak Grove Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. Anthony Copeland. Interment will be in Oak Grove Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 319 Central Ave., Suffolk, and 305 Lamp Post Drive, Chesapeake. Crocker Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
