Pro-choice deception

To the editor:

It is frustrating that so many women were misled and then outraged by the misinformation fed to the media by pro-choice leaders.

Planned Parenthood is not only deceptive but also powerful. Gov. Bob McDonnell and some of our legislators caved in on the ultrasound legislation similar to the way Susan G. Komen recanted on their decision to withhold Planned Parenthood funding.

Planned Parenthood evidently will say whatever is necessary to achieve their goals, as in their cry of state-sponsored rape regarding the ultrasound legislation.

I was present at the House Courts of Justice meeting when Tarina Keene of NARAL passed out textbook type drawing of the female reproductive system and pictures of vaginal ultrasound probes. She and the Planned Parenthood representative decried the procedure as invasive, unnecessary and an attack on women’s constitutional rights, all the while clearly knowing it is standard medical procedure at most abortion clinics in Virginia.

What is most disturbing here is how people can be so easily manipulated with the help of the media. Please, please, please get the truth out. I was shocked how widespread this misinformation is.

I was talking with a fellow pro-lifer about HB462 while doing a 40 Days for Life shift in front of Planned Parenthood a few days ago. She was expressing her concern about the invasiveness of the procedure and was taken aback and angered by the deception when I told her that transvaginal ultrasounds are already routinely done.

Please don’t let pro-choice groups, businesses and politicians get away with their underhanded manipulation. The public has a right to know the truth.
