On April 3, 2012, God looked around in his garden and found an empty place. He then looked down upon the earth and saw Elizabeth White’s tired face. He saw the road was getting rough and the hills were hard to climb, so He closed her weary eyelids and whispered, “Peace be thine.”
Elizabeth was the wife of the late William M. White. They had been married 60 years.
She leaves to cherish her memory a legacy of 10 children, 26 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Elizabeth also had two grandchildren and one great-grandchild precede her in death. From this legacy, she will be missed but not forgotten.
A funeral will be held Saturday, April 7, 2012, at Gethsemane Baptist at 2 p.m. Visitation will be held on Friday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the Harris Funeral Home Chapel. The family will be receiving friends at her home, 309 Copeland Road, on April 6 from 6 to 9 p.m.
Harris Funeral Home has been entrusted with the home-going services.
