Although the Nansemond River Softball team lost 5-1 to Western Branch on Tuesday, it can be said that the Lady Warriors beat themselves.

The Lady Warriors committed six errors, producing five unearned runs for the host Lady Bruins.

NR tied the game, 1-1, in the fourth inning but gave up four runs, including a single to Savannah Warren in the fifth inning that scored two for WB.

“Errors,” stated NR head coach Tim Tarafas as the reason for the loss. “They scored no earned runs, that’s the story of the game.”

The Lady Warriors return to action Friday versus Oscar Smith.
