Hazel Beale Osborne Oliphant, 92, died on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Obici Sentara Hospital. She was predeceased by her parents, Minnie Maude and Theoff D. Beale. She was the previous owner of the Suffolk Shoe Repair Shop and a member of the Eastern Star Sinai Chapter 18 for over 40 years.

She is survived by her children, Hazel Newton, Marie O. Young, Nathan B. Osborne III (Gayle), Faith Ashley (Gary Totty); eight grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

A funeral will be held Saturday, April 7, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk, Va. by the Rev. Brent Seusy with burial at Meadowbrook Cemetery, 4569 Shoulders Hill Road, Suffolk, VA 23435. The family will receive friends Friday, April 6, 2012, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
