SUFFOLK — Annie Inez Scott, 85, of 220 Columbus Ave., Suffolk, Va., died Monday, April 2, 2012, at her residence. A native of Sussex County, she was daughter of the late William and Estelle Hicks Bolden and widow of Dallas Robert Scott. She was also preceded in death by two sons, two brothers, three sisters and five grandchildren.

She was a member of New Calvary Baptist Church of Suffolk.

She leaves to cherish her memory, five daughters, Margaret Delk, Ann Scott, Rosa Bell, of Suffolk, Vinal Hurdle (Fred), of Tyner, N.C., and Bessie Spratley, of Lynchburg, Va.; three sons, Ruby Scott (Carolyn), of Chesapeake, Jerome Scott (Robin), of Suffolk, and William Scott, of Hampton; one brother, Meldon Bolden, of Waverly; 26 grandchildren, 69 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren; a goddaughter, Patricia Artis, and three godgrandchildren; a devoted friend, Darlene Spratley; devoted friends, Ray and Minnie Smith; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 7 2012, at New Calvary Baptist Church, 220 N. Sixth St., Suffolk, officiated by the Revs. Roger Greene and Linwood Daughtrey. Interment will be at Oakland Cemetery in Suffolk. Crocker Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.crockerfunertalhome.com.
