Eddie “Teddie” Ronald Callahan, 68, of the 500 block of Osceola Avenue, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, April 8, 2012. Teddie was born on March 3, 1944, in Beckley, W.Va., to the late Margaret Callahan.

At an early age he relocated to the Bronx, N.Y., and attended New York City public schools. He was employed by Premier Metal until 1973 and worked for the New York City Transit Authority as a Railroad Clerk until his retirement in 1994.

He relocated to Suffolk in September of 2009 and joined Bethlehem Christian Church, where he attended until his health no longer permitted.

Teddie leaves behind to cherish his beautiful memory, his devoted wife, Margie Elizabeth Callahan; children, Keith Callahan, Mary Satterfield, Inger Callahan, LaGina Callahan and Eddie Callahan; 16 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, three godchildren; two sisters-in-law, Catherine Wright and Bertha Wigfall; one brother-in-law, Artis Thorne; special cousin-in-law, Shirley Thorne Baker; and many family and friends.

Mr. Callahan’s visitation will take place at the funeral home on Thursday, April 12 from noon to 7 p.m. A celebration of life service will take place at New Mt. Joy Food for Living Ministries Church on Friday, April 13 at noon, and he will be laid to rest in the T.E. Cooke-Overton Garden of Carver Memorial Cemetery.
