Lucille Aramintia Duke Turner, within three hours of age 97, of Suffolk, Va., went to be with her Savior April 21, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Heniritta T. and William E. Duke. She is also predeceased by her husband, Willie Lee Turner. Lucille worked in quality control at the A & P Tea Co. She was a member of Liberty Spring Christian Church, where she taught the Ladies’ Bible Class, Men’s Bible Class, served on various committees, was Deacon Emeritus and was the first woman on the deacon board. Lucille was also a member of the Box Elder Homemakers Club.

Lucille is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda T. and Gary Saunders, of Suffolk; grandchildren, Angela R. and Daryl Smith, of Virginia Beach, Robert G. Saunders Jr., of Denver, Colo.; sister and brother-in-law, Irene and “Duke” Smith, of Suffolk; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Liberty Spring Christian Church, 4213 Whaleyville Blvd., Suffolk, VA 23434 with the Rev. Allen Lancaster officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, Va. Memorial donations may be made to Liberty Spring Christian Church.
