A 14-year-old boy is charged with possession of a weapon on school property after another student reported the knife on Friday.

The King’s Fork Middle School student, who is not being identified because of his age, admitted to having the knife after confronted by an assistant principal, Suffolk Public Schools spokeswoman Bethanne Bradshaw said.

Administrators had become aware of the knife after a student reported it to a teacher and the teacher told the assistant principal.

The teen told the assistant principal that a friend had asked him to hold it, Bradshaw said.

No threats were made with the knife. The teen has been suspended with a recommendation for expulsion.
