Mr. Marvin A. Cook, 203 St. James Ave., Suffolk, Va., departed this earthly life on April 23, 2012.He attended John F. Kennedy High School.
He was a formerly a worker at The Lucas Underground Cable.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his parents, Harvey Cook and Clara Cook; a life partner, Bobbie Lewis, of Portsmouth; four sons, Dontaris Lewis, Demond Lewis and Orlando Lewis, all of Suffolk, and Shawn Briggs; one daughter, Latiia Barnes, of Portsmouth; three sisters, Tammi Newby (Travis), of Texas, Tina Cook (James), of Suffolk, Lynette Aina (Hamid), of Maryland; three brothers, Jeffrey Cook (Patricia), Dontray Cook and Corey Cook, all of Suffolk; a godfather, Alton Weaver, of Suffolk.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 27, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the New St. Paul’s Holiness Church, Suffolk, Pastor Steve Hamlin officiating and Pastor Catherine Skinner, pastor. Burial will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. A visitation will begin on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The family will receive friends at 533 County St. and also at 203 St. James Ave. Harris Funeral Home has been entrusted with the homegoing services.
