Suffolk police have charged a 19-year-old Chesapeake man with reckless driving after a Monday morning accident.

The single-vehicle accident occurred about 7:21 a.m. Anthony Jones, 19, was driving a vehicle that ran off the roadway in the 3500 block of Godwin Boulevard, hit a guardrail, flipped and went into a roadside ditch, landing upside down, according to a news release from the city.

Jones was ejected from the vehicle and suffered a broken left leg, along with abrasions on his arms and head, according to the release. He was transported to Sentara Obici Hospital and then airlifted to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
