After a long illness, Richard H. Cherry, 59, of 3352 Nansemond Parkway, Suffolk, Va., died May 10, 2012, at VA Medical Hospital in Perryville, Md. He was a native of Suffolk and the son of the late Hazel Cherry Henderson and his stepfather, Joseph Henderson.

He attended John F. Kennedy High School and was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Vietnam.

He leaves to cherish his memory one daughter, Tashea L. Price, of Portsmouth, Va.; two sisters, Sandra Snead, of Henrico, Va., and JoAnn Henderson, of Oxon Hill, Md.; one brother, Allen Cherry, of Richmond, Va.; one grandchild, Jaiden Price; three aunts, all of Suffolk; a devoted niece, Charita Howell, of Suffolk; other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, May 18, 2012, in the chapel of Crocker Funeral Home officiated by Suffragan Bishop Madison Copeland. Interment will be in Albert G.
