Suffolk police arrested a 19-year-old Suffolk woman Tuesday on charges of inadequate care of animals.

Jessica Brittany Colleran, 19, is charged with three counts of inadequate care of animals, one count of animal cruelty, and one count each of keeping a dog without a rabies certificate and without a city license, for lack of care involving 10 dogs at her residence, city spokeswoman Debbie George said.

George said the dogs lacked adequate shelter and water, as well as rabies vaccinations and city licenses.

Her first court date is set for June 14.
