Evelyn Cooper Fisher

Evelyn Cooper Fisher, 71, of 2080 Nansemond Parkway, Suffolk, Va., died Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at Sentara Obici Hospital. She was a native of Nansemond County and the daughter of Leslie Cooper (still living) and the late Quessie Vaughan Cooper.
Evelyn received her B.S. degree in business administration at Pensacola College and retired as a teacher from ARC Escambia Support Living, also in Pensacola, Fla. She was a devoted member of New Mt. Joy Food For Living Ministries in Suffolk, Va., upon her passing.
Evelyn leaves to cherish her memory her father, Leslie Cooper (stepmother Lucille), of New York, N.Y.; stepmother, Louise Foster (Vivian), of New York, N.Y. Evelyn was married to Clyde L. Fisher Sr. and they were blessed with five wonderful children: one daughter, Eula Smith (Joseph), of Pensacola, Fla.; four sons, Anthony Fisher (Saundra), of Pensacola, Fla., Clyde Fisher Jr. (Edith), of Colorado Springs, Colo., Nathaniel Fisher (Barbara), of Newport News, Va., and Terrance Fisher (Terry), of Arizona; 12 sisters, Lillian Foreman, Lessie Mae Johnson (Isaiah), Annie Boone, Adelle Reid (Dennis), Joan Cooper-McCoy, Jean Johnson (Phil), Patricia Cooper-Small, Sheila Cooper, Angela Cooper, Stephanie Cooper-Jackson, Marion Bradshaw and Denise Cooper; five brothers: Kerry Cooper, Lester Cooper, Dr. Michael Cooper M.D., David Stewart and Joseph Stewart (three brothers predeceased her); 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 19, 2012, at New Mt. Joy Food For Living Ministries, officiated by Pastor Viola Parker. Interment was in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.crockerfuneralhome.com.
