Shawn Hoadley of Suffolk received a Red Hot 5’s Doubler ticket from the Virginia Lottery on his 20th birthday. That ticket ended up winning the game’s $250,000 top prize.

“I couldn’t talk,” he told lottery officials as he claimed his prize. “I about jumped through the ceiling!”

The winning ticket was bought at Kangaroo Express, 819 W. Washington St.

Red Hot 5’s Doubler is one of dozens of games available from the Virginia Lottery. It features prizes ranging from $5 all the way up to $250,000. Hoadley’s ticket is the fourth to win the top prize in Red Hot 5’s Doubler, which means one $250,000 ticket remains unclaimed.
