On May 26, 2012, God dispatched an angel to earth to touch and gently beckon David Lawrence Griffin to come home. A funeral service with military honors will be held Saturday, June 2, 2012, at 1 p.m. at New Harvest Church in Surry, Va., with Pastor Gerry Shannon officiating. Friends may join the family one hour prior to the service for a time of visitation at the church. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
