Alice Louise “Alwa” Taylor, 62, of the 200 block of Locust Drive, Sussex, died on May 31.

She was the daughter of the late Gus and Essie T. Taylor and a member of Liberty Baptist Church. She was formerly employed at Waverly Library.

She is survived by two sisters, Annie Mae Turner, of Waverly, and Cora David (Edmund), of Manhattan, N.Y.; one devoted nephew, Rodney Jones, of Waverly; and other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, at Liberty Baptist Church by the Rev. Karl Marshall, with burial following in Waverly Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m. at the church the day of the service. Family and friends will assemble at 243 Locust Drive one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Wyatt & Son Funeral Home, Suffolk.
