Willie Edward Paul, 53, of 116 S. 11th St., Suffolk, Va., died Sunday, June 3, 2012, at Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Va. He was a native of Suffolk and the son of the late Joseph Paul Sr. and Laura Harris Paul.

He attended John F. Kennedy High School in Suffolk and Westside High School in North Carolina. He attended Advanced Technology Institute and GM Technical Center and obtained an associate degree. He retired from Willie Paul Automotive, where he was the owner. Mr. Paul was a member of Rising St. James Pentecostal Holiness Church.

He leaves to cherish his memory one son, Lacey King, of Suffolk; two sisters, Gloria Utley (Daniel), of Killeen, Texas, and Elnora Felton, of Suffolk; three brothers, Joseph Paul Jr. (Dianne), Christopher Paul Sr. (Esther) and Melvin Paul (Sarah), all of Suffolk; one grandchild; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 9, 2012, at Rising St. James PHC officiated by Bishop Dwight Whitfield. Interment will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. A wake will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday at Crocker Funeral Home. The family will be at 116 S. 11th St. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.crockerfuneralhome.com.
