On June 26, 1967, Yvette Adena Collins-Pratt arrived in New York City, N.Y.; 45 years later on June 26, 2012, she departed.

Yvette will be greatly missed by her husband, Shelby Pratt, of Columbus, Ga.; her mother, Delois White-Wyatt (Richard), of Suffolk, Va.; her father and mother-in-law, Andrew and Bertha Pratt, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; her brother-in-law, Andrew Pratt Jr. (Tammy), of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; her brothers, Donnie White, of Columbus, Ga., Xaviel Urquhart (Phyllis), of Williamston, N.C., Yusef and Shali Urquhart, of Norfolk, Va.; her sisters, Sonya Urquhart and Gia Sams, of Suffolk, Va., Sabrina Urquhart, of Seattle, Wash., Shalithia Urquhart, of Portsmouth, Va.; her children Tinisha, Russell and Ameshia Collins, of Columbus, Ga., Keturah Collins, of Norfolk, Va., Raisha Knight, of Gates County, N.C., and Desmond and Dorian Green, of Columbus, Ga. She is also survived by her five grandchildren: Reese, Ty, Antrice and Kess Woodies, of Columbus, Ga., and Tyler Collins, of Columbus, Ga. She is survived by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Yvette was predeceased by her father, William Urquhart, and her brother, Yavel Zane Urquhart. She will also be truly missed by her dear friend, Farrah Knight, of Suffolk, Va.

Yvette was a loving and caring wife and mother who was actively involved at Twelve Disciples Baptist Church in Columbus, Ga., and in its choir. She was a wonderful school-parent who fully participated in her children’s school activities. Throughout her life, Yvette touched many people with her infectious smile and contagious laugh.

Yvette attended John F. Kennedy High School in Suffolk, Va., and Norfolk State University in Norfolk, Va.

There will be a celebration of her life on July 7, at 1 p.m. at New Jerusalem Apostolic Church, 418 E. Pinner St., Suffolk, Va.
