Larry Douglas Williams Sr., 70, of 200 Raleigh Ave., Suffolk, died Sunday, July 8, 2012, at Leigh Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Franklin, Va., and the son of the late Elcanian Williams and Lala Williams.

He retired from Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock after 33 years.

He leaves to cherish his memory five daughters, Angel Y. Hicks, of Portsmouth, Va., Tracay A. Williams, of Hampton, Va., Wanda L. Mills (Matthew), of Chesapeake, Va., Crystal F. Williams and Cynthia L. Williams, both of Suffolk; two sons, Larry D. Williams, Jr. (Vanessa), and Donnell Williams (Phyllis), both of Suffolk; sister, Ann Sharpe; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; longtime companion, Lorraine Williams; other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 14, 2012, at St. Paul RZUA Church officiated by Elder Harvey Lewis Jr. Interment will be in Mt. Sinai Baptist Church Cemetery.
