The city on Thursday announced the resignation of its finance director after only 10 months on the job.

Debbie White, who began work in the city on Sept. 26, has been selected as the interim director of finance in Goochland County.

White had previously served as finance director for the Augusta County Water Authority. Her last day with the city will be July 27.

“City Manager Selena Cuffee-Glenn indicated that she wishes White well in her new position,” said a press release announcing the move.

White had replaced former director of finance Dale Walker, who resigned under pressure in February 2011.

The Department of Finance will be overseen by Anne Seward, who has managed the Department of Budget and Strategic Planning since 2007. She was named interim chief financial officer earlier this month, according to the press release.
