McDonald’s fire ruled arson

The fire that closed a fast-food restaurant Thursday night was set intentionally, city officials say.

McDonald’s at 601 N. Main St. closed following the fire, which was confined to the men’s restroom. Three engines and two ladder trucks responded to the blaze, which was quickly brought under control, according to a city press release.

The restaurant re-opened Friday morning and appeared to be operating normally that afternoon, except for a sign on the men’s room door that said “closed for repairs.”
