With afternoon showers rolling through the area, and the weather radar promising even worse conditions to come, Langley Speedway officials called off Saturday’s Langley Federal Credit Union Night program.
Weather permitting, NASCAR Whelen All-American Series action resumes at the venerable Hampton speedplant on Saturday. The lineup includes: twin 75-lap-races for the late-model stock cars; twin 30-lap-races for the modifieds; a 40-lap race for the Grand Stocks; and a 40-lapper for the Super Streets.
Aug. 18 is also “Stuff the Bus” Night. Fans are encouraged to help fill the track’s “Boogity-Boogity-Boogity Bus” with backpacks and other school supplies. The donated items will benefit children in Hampton and Newport News, as well as Appalachia.
