Train strikes tractor-trailer

Police still are investigating the cause of an accident between a tractor-trailer and a train on Thursday morning.
The crash occurred at the Lake Cohoon Road and Lake Meade Drive Crossing about 11 a.m. The rear of the trailer was sheared off after being struck by the train, according to a press release from the city.
No injuries were reported by the driver of the tractor-trailer or workers on the train. The trailer was empty, and the train did not derail as a result of the accident.
Lake Kilby Road was closed for part of the day, and traffic was detoured around the accident. The road reopened around 4 p.m.
