To the editor:

I’m writing about the person who hit and killed a nice family’s dog on Deer Path Road at approximately 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday.

To that person: You could have at the very least stopped and checked on him and told the family that you had hit him. I stopped and took the dog out of the road. The owner was very upset, as I am sure the children will be, too.

What kind of a person does this — hits and kills someone’s beloved pet and just drives away like nothing happened?

I can’t even imagine what you were thinking, and I feel sorry for you. You must not have an ounce of conscience.
