Winston Robertson, 74, of Suffolk, passed away on Aug. 24, 2012. A native of Corapeake, N.C., he was the son of the late Francis “Frank” W. Robertson and Mabel Eure Robertson. He was also predeceased by family members Douglas Carroll Robertson and Paul Francis Robertson. Winston served in the U.S. Navy. He was a lifelong member of Great Fork Baptist Church and the Men’s II Sunday School class, and was a choir member, deacon and treasurer. Winston was well known in the Whaleyville area as a rural mail carrier for the United Postal Service.

Winston is survived by his wife of 50 years, Phyllis Wilson Robertson; his daughters and son-in-law: Cathy Robertson and Linda R. and Wayne Martin; and granddaughter, Natalie Kaye Martin, all of Suffolk.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, Aug. 27, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Holly Lawn Cemetery, with Dr. Donald Ray Jones officiating.
