Jack Lee Eure

Jack Lee Eure, age 91, born Feb. 12, 1921, passed away on Aug. 30, 2012.

Jack was a native of Suffolk, Va. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Ethel Faulkner Eure. Of his eight siblings, his sister, Jean Crumpler, lives in Alexandria, Va. Jack is also survived by a niece, Anita Spivey Booker, of Henrico, Va.; his sister-in-law, Jackie Eure, of Richmond; a nephew, Malcolm Wells, of Henrico, Va.; numerous other nieces and nephews; and devoted friends, Lee and Ann Poates; as well as countless lifetime friends.

Jack was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran. He moved to Richmond in 1951 to join Reynolds Metal Company, where he spent 35 years before retiring as assistant controller of Reynolds International. An avid sports angler, he was a longtime member of the Virginia Anglers Club, which he represented in 14 International Light Tackles tournaments. He was also a longtime member of the Dove Association, as well as the Westwood Club of Richmond.

A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Richmond on Saturday, Sept. 1, at 1 p.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church in the Adams Room. In lieu of flowers, Jack asked that contributions could be made to the Virginia Home for Boys & Girls, 8716 W. Broad St., Richmond, VA 23294 or Meals on Wheels, 1600 Willow Lawn Dr., Richmond, Va.
